Radiation Therapist – Radiation Oncology (Travel, 13 Weeks)

Position Summary

Monument Health is seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Radiation Oncology. This role primarily serves an outpatient cancer care population, treating a wide variety of cancer types using advanced radiation therapy technologies. First-time travelers are welcome.

Shift & Scheduling

Shift Times: 08:00 – 16:30, Monday–Friday

Weekend Rotation: None

On Call: None

Holiday Coverage: None

Orientation: 2 days (online + in-department with Supervisor)

Patient & Department Details

Outpatient-focused, with 98–99% outpatient population

Average 60 patients/day

Treats all cancer types, including Lung, Breast, Brain, Head/Neck, GYN, metastatic disease, lymphomas

Patient Ratios: 2:1 (2 therapists per treatment machine); 2:1 for CT SIM

Department Team: 8 Radiation Therapists, 3 Radiation Oncologists, 2 Medical Physicists, 2 Dosimetrists, 2 RNs, 2 LPNs

Requirements

Experience: 3–5 years in Radiation Oncology (5 years preferred)

First-time travelers accepted (must live 100 miles from any Monument Health facility)

Certifications: BLS, ARRT Radiation Therapist

State Licensure: SD not required

Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy program eligible to sit for ARRT exam

Skills & Equipment

Required: Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), Accuray Tomotherapy (HI.ART)

Preferred: RADIXACT, CT Simulation, Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT), Elekta Infinity, Varian True Beam, Siemens CT Simulator GO.PRO

Charting Systems: Mosaiq (required), Epic (preferred)

Additional Information

Floating: May float to support department with transport (always with another therapist)

Time Off: Up to 7 days without manager approval (must extend to cover full 13-week contract)
